Description
Come to Rock Bottom Ranch this summer to experience a week in the life of a farmer. Care for the ranch animals, work in the garden, take charge of egg collecting and learn to harvest ranch products to turn them into a delicious treat. Once your chores are done, head out into the preserve to explore the far reaches of the wetlands.

Description
One person’s trash is another person’s treasure! We will explore how to take materials that are normally discarded or overlooked and turn them into things we can use or eat! This week will be full of culinary and natural material creations! We'll be exploring all things "sustainability" through cooking, crafting, composting, and more!

Can you light a one-match fire? What do elk do when they're caught in a lightning storm? What leaf can soothe a nettle sting? Join us to find out! ACES’ environmental educators are experts in helping you develop basic mountain knowledge ranging from map-and-compass navigation to outdoor risk management and decision making. By the final day, you will know how to use natural materials to protect yourself from the elements, pack the perfect daypack, and identify local edible plants. Home base is Rock Bottom Ranch, but you’ll test your skills on numerous hikes and field trips during this week of adventuring!
